The Osa Foundation currently supports institutions, organizations and programs that promote the following drivers of opportunity:
Education:
- Improving teacher quality and school leadership in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools
- Building solid reading and writing skills at the pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade level
- Providing students access to and support through college or career education
- Creating learning environments that:
- Ensure students are adequately nourished and
- Address the needs of students who have struggled with special challenges in the past
Leaders and Entrepreneurs:
- Supporting disadvantaged youth with the opportunity to participate, lead and excel in areas of potential interest
- Providing seed capital and financial services to very low income aspiring entrepreneurs without access to traditional financial institutions
The Osa Foundation recognizes the difficulty in taking advantage of opportunities when basic human needs are unmet. Therefore, we typically set aside a small portion of our annual giving budget for food, shelter and emergency medical care.
